Okay, I wasn't going to post this here, but I figured why not? This is the journal I wrote up on DA after I got back from a Dir en grey concert on Tuesday Sept. 5th. I'm still all giddy and stupid from it!
This is just copied and pasted because it's long and I really don't feel like typing the whole thing over again.
-------
EEEEEEE! What a day it has been! OMFG, I feel like I'm going to just explode . I just got home not to long ago from the Dir en grey concert and, like I usually am when I get home from concerts, I'm hyper. You think I'd be tired after all those hours and with little sleep, but no no... I'm wide awake.
There wasn't many people around when Dir en grey played (their loss!), but the small group of fans really got into it! I got up nice and close, just in front of the pit. My friends and I wanted to go into the pit, but since we didn't actually have pit tickets we couldn't get in T^T. We were still so close and with so few people it felt more special. I should right in front of Kyo (the vocalist) and throughout most of the concert he stared right at me. He was so intense, I felt like I could just die right there, I stared right back at him and reached out my hand and then he did it too and my heart skipped a beat ;o;. That was the best part of the show for me. I'm not even really a huge Kyo fan, ( I love Kaoru, heh) but that just... wow. It was too much not to love. It was really cool too when a bunch of us started yelling at Kaoru and managed to catch his attention . He pumped his arms and made that classic Kaoru face.
I can complain about the sound though... because it sucked D:. We could barely here the vocals most of the time and it made me angry. Kyo seemed to just sing (and scream...) louder though so we could hear him better.
At the end, they through stuff and Kaoru's pick landed right in front of me... but behind the barrier. Some girl next to my friend dove over it and grabbed. I didn't even know it was there until she told me about it later when we were waiting in line for the meet and greet. I was so sad and nearly cried. It was the one thing I really really wanted and it was right in front of me... Thinking about in the car on the way home, I got the nice little thought that maybe he threw it at me. Earlier he had nodded toward me and smiled when I called his name (okay, I screamed it. I'm a screamer, a loud one) so... maybe? It's probably wishful thinking of a silly fan, but it makes me feel a little better and yet it makes me more sad too as I'm getting teary eyed about it again T_T.
After we left the stage area, we booked over to the meet and greet line. We waited a about an hour in the rain for them to come out for it and while we weren't able to take pictures, the whole band was there for it. I was really happy about this because at all the other shows only two of the band members went to meets. It wasn't much, we went through line and shook their hands and were taken around the tent they were in and that was that. The few seconds left an impact though. I got to shake their hands, all of them. That's something I've dreamed about and sometimes you can get so much from one handshake... I looks all of them straight in the eyes, smiled (I couldn't help but smile really), and told them it was an honor to meet them and thank you. They smiled back all of them and their grips were firm, no fish shakes from them. It was all I needed... though I sure was tempted to lean over the table and give Kaoru a hug when he said you're welcome to me.
I don't wash my right hand any time soon... . It's become holy for a while.
I did take pictures, but they all came out like shit. I got one good one of Kyo I'll post in shareables soon though...
I got a lot of pictures of Kyo... We was right in front of me after all and he was so compelling. I was sucked right in tonight. Oh! I also got some clips of concert . I wasn't supposed too... but hey, no one told me that! I got caught during the last song doing it though... haha. Some girl in front of me told the security >.>. Funny part is, I wasn't even recording at the time. I was just trying to take pictures . I still got my clips though . And I even found out after I put them on the computer that the camera records the sound too !
I need to ask you something. D:
The lighting in your photographs (among many other things) is spectacular. I was wondering, what sort of lights do you use, any (if any) reflectors, watts, and what do you do about the flash on your camera? Do you usually turn it off?
If you could tell me these things, I'd be very appreciative.
Thnak you.
<3
^^ Aww, thank you. I really don't use too much. Most of my lighting is the sun, but when I take pictures when it's dark out I use a small Ott-lite lamp. It's a flouresent lamp, 13 watts. I used to use a normal desk lamp before I got it though and it worked well enough. I never use flash with my pictures, I turn it off and I use the marco feature on my camera as well. Without the marco, things come out really blurry.
I'll be honest... I'm not really sure what it does, but it seems to me like it helps pick up all the fine details and helps focus more. A lot of camera have it. My camera is a HP, but I've seen other cameras with it. You just have to look on the boxes of the cameras, they'll say if they have the feature.
